Questions, answered plainly

Flexible housing has its own rules. This is the short version.

What cities does RentLeaks cover?

The United States (New York, the 30 largest U.S. cities, and Miami) plus major cities in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. Open the Cities directory for neighborhoods and live inventory.

What does 1-month+ / short-term mean here?

A home you can take for at least 30 days. We do not list hotel nights or weekend stays. That keeps us in housing — and out of short-term rental gray zones.

What is a lease-break or lease takeover?

The current tenant needs to leave before the lease ends. You take the remaining term. RentLeaks shows a Lease Clock, remaining months, and whether the host is offering an assignment or a sublet. Confirm paperwork before you send money.

How is a room different from co-living?

A room is a private bedroom in a regular shared apartment — housemate profiles matter. Co-living is a designed building with per-room inventory, cleaning, and often events or coworking. Both can be 1-month minimum.

What is All-in rent?

Base rent plus the monthly extras we can see: utilities, wifi, and cleaning. Broker fees are called out separately as one-time. If a host hides a fee, report it — bait pricing is not the product.

How do I list a place?

Use List a place. Lease-break posts are free. Rooms, furnished apartments, and co-living operators can publish from the same wizard. Host plans live on For Professionals.

Is Stay DNA a credit check?

No. It is a local fit score from city, budget, stay length, vibe, and must-haves. Hosts may still request screening after you apply with a renter passport.

How does Scam Shield work?

Verified-host badges, no off-platform “unlock” fees, and a hard rule: do not wire a deposit before a live video or in-person tour. Lease-breaks must disclose remaining term and takeover type.
